Pray for Calvary Las Animas in Las Animas, Colorado

Las Animas, Colorado is a small town located in the southeastern portion of Colorado. The town’s name means “The City of Lost Souls” in Spanish. The pastors at nearby Calvary La Junta saw the need for a gospel witness in Las Animas and began the process of raising up a church planter and core team for a new church.

God provided a building for the church plant when an existing church in Las Animas gave its building and property to Calvary La Junta just before they closed permanently. Dennis McDaniel met the members of Calvary’s leadership at a conference last summer. After much prayer and consideration, Pastor McDaniel answered the call to serve as the church planter of Calvary Las Animas. He and his family recently moved to Colorado to help resurrect and bring life to the abandoned community. 

Please pray for God to bless this new church plant. Although it may take some time to get the church up and running, Pastor McDaniel would like to host a Resurrection Day service and begin home Bible studies in the community.

Also, pray for the McDaniel family as they adjust to life in Colorado, build relationships, and look for housing.
