Pray for Hope Church NW in Renton, Washington
Hope Church NW, has a 123-year history, serving the communities in and around Renton, Washington. The church has two locations, and God is growing both in the multicultural and widely diverse area of South Seattle. Forty-two languages are spoken within a five-mile radius around the church. Their other location in Des Moines, Washington is an adoption and a relaunch, now named Hope Church Des Moines (formerly First Baptist). As a neighborhood church with schools nearby, they serve a wide array of families. Each location averages 45 people per service, with a great potential to reach their communities with the gospel through love and service.
As a husband, father, pastor, teacher, and foodie, Pastor Wesley Henry has served for 26 years in ministry; fourteen of those as a Lead Pastor. He has been with Hope Church NW for the past eight years and he doesn’t plan on leaving. Pastor Henry earned his bachelors in Ministerial Leadership from Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida, and is continuing his education with Kairos University in Sioux Falls, SD. He has served in various locations in TX as well as multiple cities in WA. Pastor Henry has a heart for seeing leaders develop and churches revived to expand the Kingdom of God. He and his wife, Jen, who serves as the Executive Pastor, have been married since 1998 and have three children, two active dogs, and two lazy cats. Living in the Pacific Northwest, Pastor Henry and his family camp frequently and enjoy the outdoors as the PNW weather allows them. Cycling, kayaking, cooking, and reading fill most of Pastor Henry’s ‘free time’.
As Hope Church NW celebrates Easter this weekend and prepares for summer, please be praying for their team as they partner with schools, rehab facilities, and local businesses to regain the trust needed between the Church and the Community. Seattle was hard hit during the pandemic, and the hearts of the people are still cold towards the gathering of the community. Pray for softened hearts and for God’s Spirit to draw people back to Him as they love and serve those around them.
