Pray for Huffman Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama

Huffman Baptist Church, located in northeast Birmingham, Alabama, has been a beacon of the gospel since the summer of 1906. Back then, a group started meeting in a side room of the Odd Fellows Hall in the growing community of Huffman. They gathered for Bible study, preaching, teaching, and praise. Two years later, they officially established the Huffman Missionary Baptist Church. Now, 120 years later, the church serves as a neighborhood church for over 70,000 culturally diverse residents of Huffman and its surrounding communities.

At Huffman, Pastor Rob Paul, alongside the ministry team and congregation, seeks to serve the people of their community through ministry partnerships. These partnerships include a private Christian middle and high school, as well as a crisis pregnancy center that share space on the campus.

In the last five years, Huffman Baptist Church has become more diverse as it has connected with an increasing number of people in the neighborhood. Pastor Rob has invited us to join them in prayer as they get ready to launch several new small groups in line with their approach of gathering for fellowship and worship, growing through group participation, and reaching out to spread knowledge of Jesus both locally and globally.

Join us in praying for these additional requests:

  • Pray that God will continue to bring in new visitors and that they will effectively integrate them into the church through group involvement.
  • Pray for God to call out small group leaders.
  • Pray for the financial resources to fund Huffman’s ministries.
  • Pray for the clients that are served in the food distribution ministry.
  • Pray for the pastoral leadership team as they lead.
  • Pray for favor with the families served by the ministry partners.
