Pray for Lutheran Church and School of Messiah in Grand Junction, Colorado

Lutheran Church of Messiah held its first worship service in Grand Junction, Colorado, in 1931. The church added a school in 1979 and a preschool in 1983. In 1989, an arsonist started fires at five church locations in Grand Junction, and the sanctuary of Lutheran Church of Messiah was destroyed.

Despite the tragedy of the fire, God has allowed the church to thrive. Under the leadership of pastors Mike Redeker and Josh Schmidt, Lutheran Church and School of Messiah faithfully serves their school, the local colleges, and the community in Grand Junction.

School starts back next month. Please pray that the students will be able to return and stay in person this year. Also, pray that the school will fill several vacancies before classes begin.

Please join us as we pray specifically for:

  • The congregation of Lutheran Church of Messiah as they minister to the community of Grand Junction.
  • The health and safety of the students, faculty, and staff as they return to school next month.
  • Pastors Mike Redeker and Josh Schmidt as they provide leadership for the church and school.
  • The city of Grand Junction, Colorado.
