Pray for Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Oxford, North Carolina

Mt. Zion Baptist Church was founded in 1840 in Oxford, North Carolina. Oxford is a small farming community just north of the capital city of Raleigh. Mt. Zion is a neighborhood church, and the majority of the congregation lives in the local community.

Today, Pastor Tim Atkinson is celebrating his third anniversary as senior pastor of Mt. Zion. He is currently leading the church through a revitalization. As part of the revitalization process, Mt. Zion is starting new outreach events to reach their community for Christ.

This fall the church is preparing backpacks for the Appalachian Christmas Outreach. This ministry seeks to meet the physical and spiritual needs of people living in the Appalachian coalfield areas of West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia, and North Carolina. Churches donate backpacks containing warm clothing, canned food, hygiene items, a toy, candy, and a Bible for children in these poverty-stricken areas. Please pray that God will bless this ministry and the outreach efforts of Mt. Zion Baptist.

Please join us as we pray specifically for:

  • The congregation of Mt. Zion as they minister to their community.
  • God to bless and provide for the children and families in Appalachia through the generosity of Mt. Zion Baptist.
  • Pastor Tim Atkinson as he celebrates his third anniversary as pastor of Mt Zion Baptist and as he lead the church in the revitalization process.
  • The community of Oxford, North Carolina
