Pray for St. Catherine AME Zion Church in New Rochelle, New York

St. Catherine AME Zion Church began as a mission church in 1841 in New Rochelle, New York. It was named after Catherine Landers, a generous contributor to the building fund. The current pastor, Reverend Wallace L. Noble, was appointed in August 2016.  Rev. Noble is very active in the New Rochelle community, and several new ministries have been started at the church under his leadership.

In December 2020, the church broke ground for a new, 179-unit affordable apartment complex with a three-story parking deck. This is the third building the church has built since 1972. The church also prepares hot meals for 65-70 homeless people twice per month through their Caring and Sharing ministry. Despite COVID-19 restrictions, the church has continued to serve the community by preparing carry-out meals for these same individuals.

St. Catherine AME Zion Church is still holding services online. Please pray that God will bless today’s Easter services and that many will hear the good news of Christ.
