Pray for We are praying for Grace Mid City in Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Grace Mid City Church in Baton Rouge, Louisiana was founded in 1942. Mid City is known as the “cultural district” of Baton Rouge. The church location intersects both wealth and generations of poverty. Mid City is known as the “cultural district” of Baton Rouge. With the God given desire to serve their community, Grace uses their campus to meet needs around them. They are hosts to several 12-step meetings, a tutoring service, and a counseling clinic. Through these services they are able to share the gospel with those that come through their doors each week.

In 2011, as a college student at LSU, Norman Elrod joined the replant team for Grace Mid City. After graduating, he felt called by the Lord to stay, and in 2020, he became the lead pastor. The community of Grace Mid City has witnessed the expansion of their counseling services under Pastor Norman’s leadership.

In the future, they will seek the Lord’s guidance as they transition from Grace Mid City Church to focusing solely on being a community center that offers various counseling services. The last service at Grace Mid City was held on June 30th, 2024. Many decisions must be made in the days ahead, and Pastor Norman has asked us to come alongside and pray with them. Pastor Norman and his team feel confident that the Lord has them in this area for His glory and purpose.

Join us in praying for these requests:

  • For the Lord to confirm their plans or redirect them to His will.
  • That the funding would be provided for the community center.
  • New church homes for each member of Grace Mid City.
  • For Pastor Elrod and his wife to find rest and joy in this next chapter and for their financial needs to be met.
  • An increase in volunteers to help labor with them.
  • That through this work, God brings salvation, healing, freedom, belonging, forgiveness, peace, unity, and nothing short of Heaven on Earth.
