Pray for Woodlawn Presbyterian Church in Hopewell, Virginia

Woodlawn Presbyterian Church in Hopewell, Virginia celebrated its 100th birthday in May of 2023, by hosting a wonderful worship service and a meal together. They commemorated God’s work throughout the past century and shared their hope for the future to continue spreading the gospel. 

Jeff Butler, the pastor of Woodlawn Presbyterian for the past 15 years, has been serving in ministry with his wife, Lisa, in various positions since his ordination in 1986. Jeff is passionate about being salt and light to those he interacts with.

During the pandemic, Woodlawn Presbyterian hosted outdoor worship services, which led several visitors to attend. These former visitors are now integrated into their fellowship and attend midweek Bible studies. Inspired by the outreach’s success, they are looking into doing something similar this summer for the neighborhood.

Recently, they began participating in the Dollywood Imagination Library program. This outreach opens up opportunities to connect with those participating in the program along with encouraging literacy in young children. Please pray for the conversations that can take place because of this program. 

Join us as we pray for these specific needs: 

• Lord, bring the next generation to Woodlawn so they can continue to grow.

• Help their mid-week Bible study and men’s groups to grow their faith.

• May the implementation of the Dollywood Imagination Library not only increase literacy in their community but also lead to gospel conversations.

• Bring healing over those in their congregation affected by cancer.

• Grant wisdom and balance to Pastor Jeff in his community involvement through his roles with the Rotary Club and his ministry association.
