Pray for Avon Community Church in Avon, Minnesota

Avon Community Church is located in Avon, Minnesota, a small town 90 miles northwest of Minneapolis. The church is connected to the Conservative Congregational Christian Conference, a denomination of evangelical congregational churches. Alvin Helms serves as the lead pastor for ACC, as well as the area pastor for the state within their denomination.

Alvin came to Avon Community Church four years ago, after 30 years of service as a pastor, serving churches in Washington, Oregon, California, and Minnesota. By God’s grace, Alvin had a solid Christian foundation throughout his childhood. This influenced him to attend Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where Alvin sensed God calling him into church ministry. He and his wife, Melodee, met at a Christian center, marrying a couple years later. Melodee attended Central Bible and continues to serve in the ministry of Christian education in the church. They have been married for 36 years and have four adult children. 

Both Alvin and Melodee have a heart for the local church and believe it to be the best place to make a gospel impact. Let’s pray for them and with them as they serve the church and those in their community.
