Pray for Buffalo Grove Presbyterian Church in Lexington, Nebraska

Buffalo Grove Presbyterian Church in Lexington, Nebraska was organized in 1839 by German settlers who had immigrated to rural Nebraska in the 1800s. The name represents the description of a location where buffalo were common. The current building was built in 1923. It is still situated in a rural area with no towns within 20 miles of its location.

There are currently 40 members that represent ages from 3 months old to 90 years old. Most of the members are farmers, but there are some who travel to the church from other communities as they appreciate the rural character of the community. It’s not uncommon for a dog to walk into the church during worship as the building is not air conditioned and the doors are left open. Keeping wildlife out of the church building often keeps Buffalo Grove’s ushers busier than assisting church members and guests.

Pastor Gary Smith was recently called to Buffalo Grove to help lead the church into their next season of ministry.
