Pray for East Gate Church in Albuquerque, New Mexico

East Gate Church in Albuquerque, New Mexico, began in the 1950s under different names and in different locations and moved to their current location in 2000. Over the years, the faces have changed but their mission has remained the same: to demonstrate to their community the love that God has for them, shown in Jesus. East Gate was started by two women from the Foursquare denomination. They are located between a high crime area on one side, and a very affluent area on the other. Their zip code is the richest and poorest in their county.

Jon and his wife, Gabrielle, have served faithfully at East Gate since June 2011. They have been in full-time ministry for the last 21 years, working in children’s, youth, young adult, and media ministries in various churches. Their passion is to see the least and the last realize the love that God has for them, and find their identity in the God that invites into His family and a life worth living.

East Gate operates a food pantry on the first of each month, sharing the gospel and the love of Jesus to those in physical and spiritual need. They also host a Celebrate Recovery group and run a large child-care center, meeting a great need in the community God has placed them in. New Mexico ranks 50 for a child’s well-being and education and they lovingly labor to be a solution to this problem.
