Pray for First Calvary Baptist Church in Durham, North Carolina
First Calvary Baptist Church was established in 1884 in the West End of Durham, North Carolina. Pastor Fredrick A. Davis was called as pastor in 1991. Under Pastor Davis’ leadership, the church body has grown significantly. They have faithfully served and reached people for Christ locally and globally through a wide variety of ministries in Durham and mission work in Uganda.
The pandemic has not prevented First Calvary from serving and ministering to their community. The church is offering online worship services, Sunday School classes, Bible studies, and workshops. They are also providing assistance to those in need through their food pantry and clothing ministries.
Pastor Davis will retire in 2022 after 29 faithful years of ministry at First Calvary. The church is praying they will remain steadfast in the Lord as they accept who God selects to be the next pastor.
