Pray for Homestead Church of the Nazarene in Homestead, Florida

Homestead Church of the Nazarene has a long history in the city of Homestead, Florida. Located approximately 25 miles southwest of Miami, the church was founded in 1927 when Homestead was a small town with fewer than 2,000 residents. In 1953, the United States Air Force reopened Homestead Air Force Base, and the church experienced a season of growth as military families moved to the area. In 1992, Hurricane Andrew destroyed the base, and many families moved north.

Over the years, the church has become multicultural as workers from Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Haiti, and Venezuela have moved to the area for work. The congregation speaks three languages: English, Spanish, and Haitian Creole.

Led by retired U.S. Air Force Chaplain William L. Chambers, III, the church is trying to recover from the impacts of COVID. Please pray for the church as it launches small group and outreach ministries to reach their community for Christ.

May God bless Homestead Church of the Nazarene and all of the churches worldwide as we celebrate Easter and our risen Savior!
