For the past 24 years, Ministerios Tierra de Bendición (Land of Blessings Ministries) has faithfully served the border community of Douglas, Arizona. Led by founding pastor Fernando Betancourt, the church ministers in a unique setting along the U.S.-Mexico border. Eighteen years ago, the congregation expanded by planting a second campus in Sonora, Mexico, becoming a multi-site church that serves people in two nations.
One of the church’s most distinctive characteristics is its bilingual ministry. While the congregation is primarily Spanish-speaking, it also serves English-speaking members, making every aspect of ministry accessible in both languages. Pastor Fernando experiences a unique rhythm each Sunday as he preaches in two different countries on the same day, faithfully shepherding both campuses.
A significant outreach of the church takes place each Saturday through its kitchen ministry in Mexico. More than one hundred families gather each week to receive a warm meal, hear the gospel, worship together, and be prayed for. This ministry has become an important expression of Christ’s love and compassion to the surrounding community.
Pastor Fernando and his wife, Denisse, have been married for 27 years and have three daughters: Bethany and the twins Elyanna and Julyanna, who are 16 years old. Julyanna has special needs, and the family would greatly appreciate continued prayer for her health and well-being.

- Pray for Julyanna, that God would strengthen her, meet her every need, and encourage the entire Betancourt family as they care for her.
- Pray for Pastor Fernando’s mother, asking the Lord to grant healing, strength, and peace during her health struggles.
- Pray that many people on both sides of the border would come to faith in Jesus Christ through the church’s ministries and outreach efforts.
- Pray for wisdom, unity, and God’s continued blessing over both church campuses as they faithfully minister in Arizona and Mexico.
- Pray for the Douglas and Sonora communities, that God would bring hope, peace, spiritual renewal, and that the weekly kitchen ministry would continue to open hearts to the gospel.
