Pray for Movement Church in Richmond, Virginia
Movement Church started in 2010 as a church plant in Richmond, Virginia. In 2017 the church inherited a building from another congregation that decided to close its doors. The building was much larger than Movement’s needs at the time. The facility included a large worship center, fellowship hall, extensive educational space, a chapel, and a large piece of land. Under the leadership of Pastor Cliff Jordan, the small congregation moved in and started meeting. They began renovation of the building with faith that God would provide opportunities for the church to use the space for His glory.
Fast forward to 2020. Like many churches, the pandemic caused Movement to cancel their onsite ministries and move their worship services online. Most of their large building sat vacant for several months. As the city of Richmond moved to virtual, online schooling, Movement was approached by the local YMCA to use their facility to host local school children during the week. These children needed a safe place with internet access to connect to their classes. They also needed a large space with room for social distancing. God had provided the space, and Movement answered the call to host 50 students and the YMCA staff five days a week. In addition to providing space for these students, the church has sponsored activities and donated supplies to show the love of Christ to these children.
Please pray that God would bless Movement Church as they commit to sharing life together, living on mission, and seeing people in Richmond and around the world come to know Jesus.
