Pray for Park Street Church in Boston, Massachusetts

Park Street Church in Boston, Massachusetts has a rich history. Founded in 1809 at the corner of Park and Tremont Streets, the steeple of Park Street Church was once the first landmark travelers saw when approaching Boston. In 1816 Park Street established one of America’s first Sunday School programs, intended for working children whose only opportunity to learn to read was on Sundays. The church is part of Boston’s Freedom Trail, sixteen historical sites that tell the story of the American Revolution and beyond.

Despite restrictions in place due to COVID, Park Street is finding ways to serve others in the name of Jesus this Christmas season. They are streaming their traditional service of Nine Lessons and Carols this evening at 7:00 pm Eastern. The church is raising money to provide backpacks with warm scarves, hats and gloves, socks, and needed hygiene items for the local Homeless Outreach Ministry and Engagement ministry. They are also collecting toys and coats for The Root Cellar, a ministry that serves refugee families in Lewiston, Maine.

Park Street’s City Engagement ministry is supporting food pantries at their sister churches, providing materials for face masks, helping workers engaged in homeless care, purchasing groceries for families with a COVID-19 diagnosis, and supplying Park Street’s own food bank. Please pray that God will bless Park Street Church as they serve and care for the city of Boston this Christmas and into 2021.
