Pray for Sherwood Community Friends Church in Sherwood, Oregon
Sherwood Community Friends Church, located in Sherwood, Oregon, was established in 1888 by pioneering, evangelical Quaker settlers. Their emphases included simplicity, community, and a personal experience of God. God grew this small congregation over the past 135 years into a vibrant community of believers. They are part of a network of churches throughout Oregon, Idaho, and Washington called the Northwest Yearly Meeting of Friends.
Robert Garon, and his wife, Lisa, have been serving Sherwood Community Friends Church for the past four years. Robert also uses his church revitalization experience within the Northwest Yearly Meeting of Friends to grow healthier churches. Lisa is the chair of the Board of Local Outreach for the denomination. They have both led short-term missions teams internationally from a multi-site church in the Chicago suburbs as well as served in multiple ministry roles in the area. Their educational background includes degrees in Business Management, Masters in Pastoral Counseling, and Masters in Missional Multiplication. They have been married for 20 years, and by God’s grace, balance each other well in life and ministry. They have an adult son, Brayden, who is serving in the U.S. Coast Guard. They enjoy hiking in the Pacific Northwest.
Robert and Lisa ask that you please pray for SCFC, that it maintains a passion for Jesus and the Word as they make His name known in their own context and around the world.
