Pray for St. Paul Lutheran Church in Leavenworth, Kansas

St. Paul Lutheran Church is located in Leavenworth, Kansas, and is recognized as the oldest church in the state, having been established in 1861. Since its founding, it has remained at the same location. The church neighbors Fort Leavenworth, home to the U.S. Army’s Command and General Staff College, which hosts around 1,000 career officers and their families each year. The St. Paul community embraces the chance to welcome military families into their church and school during their time at Fort Leavenworth. St. Paul’s mission is to CARE—Cultivate Awesome Relationships for Eternity. Through worship, Bible study, and outreach, they actively share the love of Christ with others.

For the past 30 years, St. Paul Lutheran Church has been led by Pastor Ed Mease. Under his guidance, the church has actively lived out its faith by sharing their lives with others. Their mission focuses on ministering to the needs of the surrounding community. The church partners with other local congregations to host an after-school program called “Connecting Kids with Christian Community,” where adult volunteers serve as mentors, providing a safe environment for at-risk elementary school children. On the third Saturday of each month, they distribute over 400 meals to those in need, offering both food and companionship. The church is committed to serving its neighbors and looks forward to what the Lord is doing through their congregation.

Please join in praying for the following requests:

  • Pray for the Lord’s blessing on the transition of ministry after Pastor Mease’s retirement in January, 2025.
  • Pray for the future of their school.
  • Pray they serve faithfully in their neighborhood and that people would come to know Christ.
  • Pray for the Lord’s blessing over Pastor Mease and his wife Becca entering into retirement.
