Pray for The River Community Church in Safford, Arizona
The River Community Church in Safford, Arizona, is a vibrant congregation with around 600 people attending each Sunday. The church started in 2012 with just eight people and has grown significantly since then. The many individuals who have come to know Jesus through their ministry and the opportunity to care for and serve their church family are things for which they are thankful. The River’s mission is to help people develop a personal relationship with God through studying the word and sharing the gospel in their communities. Through their worship services, Bible studies, and outreach, they witness lives being transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit.
One area of outreach that has effectively met a significant need in the community is the Addiction Recovery Ministry. The River is currently in the planning phase of building a residential facility for the Recovery Ministry. They need funding, staffing, and support from the community for this project.
In addition to this ministry, The River Pastor David Chapman is actively involved in getting Bibles into closed countries. Each year, they purchase approximately 35,000 Bibles for the underground church. Please pray for these areas that are closed to the gospel to experience a great outpouring of the Holy Spirit and for protection for those who enter these areas.
Join us in praying for these specific needs:
- Pray for the completion of the Addiction Recovery Center.
- Pray that The River will be able to provide 50,000 Bibles to the underground church this year.
- Pray for effective mentoring and succession planning for leadership to ensure the long-term thriving of the church.
- Pray for a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit to impact the entire congregation and, ultimately, the community.
- Pray for the pastors and members to have open doors for mission work worldwide.
