Pray for University Hills Baptist Church in Charlotte, North Carolina

University Hills Baptist Church, located in Charlotte, North Carolina, began in 1925 in the western part of the city. In 1978, they moved to the university area with a heart to reach students as well as those in their community. Next year, they are looking to celebrate God’s work through UHBC for 100 years of ministry, remaining true to their vision “to reach all people for Christ and grow a unified body of believers for the glory of God.”

Bo Riley has served as the pastor to students of UHBC since 2010, and began serving as their senior pastor in 2019. He is a native to the Charlotte-Concord area, only moving away to attend Columbia International University (Columbia, South Carolina), graduating from there with a bachelor’s degree in 2006. After returning, Bo earned a Masters of Divinity degree in 2013 and a decade later a Doctor of Ministry degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Allison, have three kids ages 14, 12, and 10. They enjoy traveling as a family and working out together. Their own ministry includes investing in their UHBC family, their kids’ school community, and fellowshipping with their brothers and sisters in Christ of different ethnicities.

Join us as we pray for these specific prayer needs:

  • Pray that they will partner with other local churches to reach the 30,000+ University of North Carolina at Charlotte students who are next door to UHBC.
  • Pray that they will see students come to faith in Christ and be baptized this year.
  • Pray that UHBC will grow as a church family in ways that allow them to connect with and reach people from diverse backgrounds who live around the church.
  • Pray that they will see pastors and leaders raised up in their church this year who will lead the church to increasing health, fruitfulness, and unity.
